While earning her degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Tamara worked her first job in journalism at the Arkansas Times newspaper. She was the editorial assistant for the entertainment section of the newspaper. Before she left, she wrote a revealing cover story on "behind the scenes" at the Miss Arkansas Pageant.
